Open Question: How much weight will I lose?

Monday, September 15th, 2008

I do 35-40 min an night on my elliptical trainer doing 10 plus km and burn about 400 calories. So basically that is 70km a week and 2800 cals a week. How fast can I tone and lose weight? Will it be gone by November. Currently weigh 140 and I am 5′4″ 28 years old.
Not concerned with weight as I am toning. I would like to get down to 125. I plan on doing weights and crunches every other day like Monday, Wednesday, Friday and maybe Saturday or Sunday. Calorie and diet will be about 1200 cals to 1500 cals. I plan on watching my carbs, fat, and sodium intake.

Open Question: I need help figuring out a good exercise program?

Monday, September 15th, 2008

I have recently gained 20 pounds and I’m trying to go back to my normal weight. I’m a 16 year old girl, 135 pounds and 5″5.

If I:
-use an elliptical trainer for 45 minutes to an hour every day
-do the 8 minute abs video every other day
- and restrict my caloric intake to about 1500 calories/day

Will I eventually see results?
Any other suggestions for an effective exercise program?

Open Question: Help with my workout routine?

Monday, September 15th, 2008

I just started a new workout routine after about 3 months off and I wanted some input.

I’m 18, Male, and 115~120 kg (fat not muscle), 6″2~3 but have surprisingly good stamina for someone as overweight as me.

45 minutes power walking a day on a treadmill with no incline resulting in about 250 calories burnt according to the machine

3 sets of 8 reps @ comfortable weight for bench, the one where you face the machine and pull it toward you, like a weighted row, and the one where you pull the top bar thing down. I do the weights every 2 days on a home gym machine.

Also available to me in my home gym: elliptical/x trainer, leg press, and the one where you move your hands together. And also free weights and a real bench.

I am wondering mainly: should I use the x trainer instead of the treadmill and for how long? Or perhaps alternate? (I much prefer the treadmill) is my weight training good or should I change up the reps/sets/weight/exercises/frequency??

The goal is to lose weight fast. my parent said if i can lose 20-30 kg by December they’ll buy me an Armani suit.

P.S sorry i don’t know all the weight exercise names, hope you can workout what I’m talking about.

Open Question: Can you explain this to me?

Monday, September 15th, 2008

I have lost about 9 pounds, and I use an elliptical trainer for an hour atleast 4 times a day, some weeks, everyday, and I do it on level 1. I can see the weight loss in my stomach, but not in my thighs or my lower back (called love handles, I think?). Why is this??
It is not because I am still “fat” either, as I have almost lost too much weight, and am concerning my family.
