Has anyone here ever lost weight from an elliptical trainer?

how old were you?
how much weight did you lose?
how long did it take to lose the weight?
how much did you use the elliptical trainer?

( I’m 13, and trying to lose 30 pounds.. i’m asking for an elliptical trainer for Christmas, and hoping that it will work well to get the 30 pounds off…)

I’m currently alternating between forwards and backwards motion on an elliptical trainer every 5 minutes, so it’s half and half. Is that good or bad? Should I be doing less backwards? Is it even worth it?

Open Question: Do elliptical trainers make your butt smaller?

Hey I have an elliptical trainer that looks somewhat like this:

I was wondering if it will make my butt smaller. I have a small butt and i have ZERO fat on the sides like where myhips are and i would like to overall make my butt bigger but i have big thighs and i especially wanna get rid of the upper inner thigh fat and the fat on the insides of the knees. wat shud i do? shud i use my elliptical trainer? help please

I recently got a membership to my local YMCA and on Sunday I went and spent about an hour and a half working out between the treadmill and the stationary bike. I’m going to go tomorrow too, but I don’t want to continue doing the same work out if it’s not going to achieve the results I’m looking for.

On the treadmill, I went about 5 - 5.5 mph, with 3 mph cool down periods when I needed them. On the bike, I went a little slower than the fastest I could have gone. While this burned enough calories for me to know I was getting a good workout, I’m still not sure how the results will look. (As of right now I have a BMI of about 19.6)

So, does anybody know what machines I should use to achieve thinner legs? There are a lot of different ones available for me to use at the YMCA. And how should I use these machines? If I should be using the treadmill to reach my goal, how fast should I go, at what incline, and for how long? I’ve heard that the elliptical trainer can help someone get thinner legs. How does that work, and for how long at what resistance will help that along?

Also, right now I’m still experiencing delayed onset muscle soreness. I still plan on working out tomorrow, but is there anyway to relieve the pain just for the time that I’ll be working out? Any help is much appreciated.

I am 13 years old weighing 108 pounds at 5 ft tall. If i went on a stationery bike for 1 hour, 300 sit ups, 300 push through s, 5 minutes of planks, 100 leg lifts, 30 minutes on elliptical trainer, 150 curls and had a healthy diet and lifted a five pound weigh in each arm 200 times how long approximately would it take to get a six pack?

Is it the distance between the toes of the back foot and the heel of the front foot? When I walk, the distance between the toes of the back foot and the heel of the front foot is only about 12 inches. Would an elliptical with a 15″ stride be ok for me? I hear that 15″ is quite short for an elliptical trainer.

Like, how do I resist the temptation to stop what I’m doing early? Sometimes I’ll go on an elliptical trainer and I want to burn 500 calories each time I go on. I sometimes do, but 20 mins into it, I feel like wanting to get off.
