Hey i’m 13 years young, 5′2 and 133 pounds. I really want to lose 30 pounds or more. I want to lose it before spring break of next year.. Because i might be going on vacation to Cuba. Anyway, my mom might get me a exercise machine for Christmas! But i’m not sure what to ask for! I would like to get an Elliptical trainer… But do they really work? I would like to get this one, or one that is like this one;

2) How often do you use it?

I started working out mainly treadmill, bike, and elliptical machines. I bought a pair of Nike, but they hurt the back of my heel. I am returning them today. I need to know if I should get a running or cross trainer. I also have back problems so I need good support. I heard New Balance are good, but I am not sure what series to get.

Can anyone tell me how they really work to make you burn calories and lose weight? They look like they don’t give much of a workout! And some people tell me that getting a cheaper one, (like the one i want to get from walmart) doesn’t work to help you lose weight! But all elliptical trainers work the same way, weather their cheap or not! So how is that possible? And do all elliptical trainers tell you how many calories you burnt?
