Which is better and Why?
every time I exercise especially when I am on the elliptical and arch trainer all my toes go numb… I don’t think its a circulation issue because exercise increases circulation…. what is going on here??? is it a nerve issue?
i am not diabetic and there is no history of diabetes in my family
i am also only 25!
Seriously what is an elliptical trainer?

pleaser answerr!
it would be greatly appreciated.

I’m 5′5” and about 120lbs. I really hate my stomach / thighs / arms and I’d like to start working on them a little more. What particular types of exercise can I do to make them more appealing? I don’t really want to lose my boobs but I know that when you work out it’s basically impossible to pinpoint one area.

Everyday I go for about 1/4 mile on my elliptical trainer and I do 50 sit-ups, 25 leg-lifts, and wall push-ups. I also lift weights (only 10lbs) and do different exercises to try reduce arm flab. I really want to be toned up for my final year of school and I want to look hot for graduation. Any tips / ideas would be much appreciated!
LMFAO. I don’t have abs or anything. I WISH I did. I’m being dead serious here. I’d love to know how to properly maintain my midsection and thighs. Seriously.
Okay, I’m 5′3″ tall and weight 165 lbs. I have been trying to lose weight for 18 months. I currently do 7 - 8 hours of cardio a week which includes jogging, aerobics, walking, biking, elliptical trainer and hot yoga. I do not lift weights though I do a core work out 3 - 4 times a week and pushups twice a week. My diet consists of TONS of fruits and veggies, plus lean meat. I am not saying I never have dessert, but it is rare. I am not saying I never have fast food, but for example if I have pizza I have a salad first so I only eat a couple of pieces as opposed to in the past when I would eat 4 or 5. I have lost NO WEIGHT AT ALL. Can someone please tell me what’s wrong with me and what I can do to lose weight. I am desperate
Monday – 45 minutes cardio; 15 minutes abs; 20 minutes arms
Tuesday – 45 minutes cardio; 15 minutes abs; 20 minutes legs
Wednesday – 45 minutes cardio; 15 minutes cardio; 15 minutes squats

Friday – 45 minutes cardio; 15 minutes abs; 20 minutes legs
Saturday – 1 hour cardio

I weigh 107 and I’m 5’2. Is this okay? I try to alternate between the stair climb, cross trainer, and running during my sessions as my body is now used to the elliptical.
I did the elliptical trainer for 30 minutes two days ago, and my quads are still pretty sore from it. I need to do about another 30 minutes of cardio tonight, but not sure what to do. I don’t have access to a good lap pool, so that won’t work. The fitness center I use has a few stationary bikes, a couple treadmills (but I can’t run right now due to lower back issues), and weight machines, mostly upper body, but a few leg machines as well. Any suggestions?
i have tried numerous well known diet plans such as south beach and Atkins but they seem to target weight loss in the stomach area but that’s not my problem i have a 24 inch waist i am 5′4″ i weigh 145 lbs. and i am 16 yrs old and i have 16″ calves!! it might not seem that my calves are huge but i am extremely disproportionate!! i have tried tons of different exercises like cardio (i did a lot of biking at low resistance levels and a lot of elliptical), yoga, pilates, weight training and nothing helped i have also tried jogging for long periods of time because i heard that would help but they got bigger!! both of my parents are certified personal trainers and don’t know how to help me. i recently went back to school shopping and found that no jeans would fit me (even bell bottoms) because they were so tight in my calves. PLEASE please help me. I also consulted a doctor on this and he said that he didn’t know what to tell me
I am 17 and am fairly overweight. I used to exercise at home but it wasn’t giving me the results I wanted so I joined a gym a few months ago. Generally, I go in for about 1-2 hours and end up burning anywhere between 600-1200 calories. I usually work out on the elliptical trainer or bike. Sometimes, I end up going for a short walk as well + trips to and from bus stops in the morning. I have also started watching my diet very closely and eat around 1500 calories max per day. However, the one thing I hate doing is checking my weight cause Im scared its going to go up. I keep thinking that I should weight another week and another week. Did anyone experience the same things and have some suggestions as to how I could loose weight better?
I am on my first week (again) with the Weight Watchers Program. I’ve done this a couple times before. Anyways, I just ended my first week. Most days I lost at least a 1/2 a lb. Well, yesterday (my last day of week #1) I was down 5 lbs. By the late afternoon I had only eaten 12.5 points and still had 18.5 left in addition to at least 15 weekly points. I had been so good with everything that I thought I’d order Pizza Hut. So I looked in my WW book and saw that a med. hand tossed Pepperoni was only 5 points. So I ate 3 pieces leaving me with 3.5 daily points in addition to almost 1/2 of my weekly points. In addition, I ran for 35 minutes on the elliptical trainer gaining an additional 9 points that I didn’t use. This morning I didn’t lose but I didn’t gain either. I just don’t understand why. Does WHAT you eat before weigh ins really matter even if you stay within your daily points? The best answer WITH explanation gets my vote!
I just wanted to add that I’m not complaining. Losing 5 lbs in the 1st week is good. And I’m not getting hung up on weighing every day. I’m just paying attention to what my body is doing and curious about the results. I am still really motivated! Thanks for the good answers so far!
I know 9 points sounds a little high but I used my points booster and I have quite a bit to lose. I calculated based on high activity rather than moderate or light because I moved on the eliptical at 40+ RPM and was sweatin like a dog the whole time! It was like running on a treadmill without the impact on my ankles and knees. Again, Great Answers so far…Thanks!!!
